Cool Insurance Chick

I am a ridiculously amazing insurance agent and Cool Insurance Chick. My job is to protect lifestyles, it really is that simple. As the president and owner (3rd generation!), I wear many hats, but guiding our clients through the muddy waters of insurance, taking the time to get to know them and what they need is my most important hat. I do have a CIC designation, and while I say it is Cool Insurance Chick, it actually is a Certified Insurance Counselor.

Born and raised in South Bend, I then moved all the way over to Mishawaka and PHM schools in the 8th grade. I had a very traditional/normal childhood – being mildly tormented by 3 older brothers, vacations in the station wagon (cue the Brady Bunch music), playing kick-the-can in the street and trick or treating when it was actually dark and having parents that were happily married. Good, basic midwestern family values. Things that I now realize may not have been the norm, but they certainly were for me and made me the person I am today.

I graduated from Bradley University in 1990. After saying over and over that I would never work for or with my father or live here, I made my back to South Bend in 1992. Glad I was wrong about wanting to come back! Over the years I have had a number of forgettable jobs – I worked as a cashier at a local grocery store, was a day-camp counselor for the local YMCA, I even sold tickets business to business (door-to-door) for a comedy club while I lived in Atlanta.

I met my husband Brian while tailgating at ND, (remember tailgating?!) and married him a year and a day later. We are that odd couple that does everything together – grocery shopping, haircuts, etc. And as of 2013 – we even work together! It takes special people to be able to do that (or incredibly stupid)!

When not at work protecting lifestyles, I enjoy Chicago Cubs baseball at Wrigley Field and traveling to AZ to see them in Spring Training. Good food, good friends and good wine are a must for me. I love concerts and have been very fortunate over the years to see many classic rock artists up close and personal. Trips to Glen Arbor, MI are always a source of joy. Relaxing by Lake Michigan is one of the most peaceful places to be – regardless of season.

Have fun in whatever you do, work or play. That’s the key. And blowing bubbles on your back patio in the sunshine makes a GREAT day!
